An engagement session with the sweetest couples at two of my favorite locations in San Diego?? Say less! Haley and Chris’ natural energy and chemistry made this session seriously such a dream. Haley + Chris’ Engagement Photos at Balboa Park & Coronado Island

When Haley inquired with me, she said, and I repeat, that she did not want “cheesy hallmark card photos.” Lucky for her, my style is anything BUT basic or cheesy. They really wanted photos that would represent them as a couple but were still unique and modern. So, in other words, my dream couple.

Once they booked, we got started on collaborating on where exactly we would shoot their San Diego engagement session. They’re a total beach-loving couple, but they always thought that beach photos were just a littllleee too basic and unoriginal. So I took their Pinterest inspo board and they 100% trusted me to bring it to life!

We decided on two iconic locations: Balboa Park and Coronado Island.

Balboa Park Engagement Photos in San Diego

The first stop was Balboa Park, and they planned a more elevated, fancy look to match the artsy and elegant vibe of the space. They even brought a bottle of Veuve and champagne glasses to include as props for their session.

This part of the session felt especially fun and creative, and it was such a good fit for the modern, non-cheesy vibe they wanted their engagement photos to have.

Coronado Island Engagement Photos

Once we headed to Coronado Island for some not-unoriginal beach photos, they changed into their casual (yet still elevated) look and frolicked around looking cute as fuck. These two were truly down for anything (my fave) and interacted with each other totally unprompted, making my job so much easier.
