It’s about damn time I finally share these photos from a recent Sunset Villa & Winery wedding! This was an intimate California wedding out of my freaking dreams, so you already know I can’t wait to go back to this dreamy venue. Sunstone Villa & Winery Wedding in Santa Ynez, California
Carli and Micheal did not hold back with their Sunstone Villa wedding. Although they kept the guest count small and intimate, their day was so detail-oriented. They put a heavy emphasis on making their guests feel super special AND making everything look pretty as fuck! One of my absolute favorite combinations as a wedding photographer.
This couple also heavily complemented the venue with their style and design. What’s the point of getting married at a winery if you’re not gonna take advantage of what it has to offer?? Sunstone Villa gives total European-style vibes, so C + M leaned into a more elegant design with both their decor and even Carli’s wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier. Sara Reddick did an AMAZING job at making this vision come to life in every way, shape, and form!
Because their wedding was so intimate, they had one long table for their dinner party after the ceremony. This made sure that everyone was able to mingle and converse with each other at one dinner table and spend plenty of time with the happy couple. If you’re planning on having an intimate wedding, be sure to keep your guests’ experience in mind with little details like this! They also had custom name escort cards on the signature cocktails (yes, you need to have this too, it was just too cute) and a MINI CAKE FOR EACH GUEST. I can’t get over it!!!
Sunstone Winery & Villa venue – Why should you get married here?
The fact that the iconic Sarah Hyland x Wells Adams wedding took place here should honestly be reason enough. BUT, if you’re looking for details about this venue, I’ve got ya covered!
Sunstone is an organic winery and estate sitting on 52 acres in the Santa Barbara wine country. In case you didn’t know, this little slice of California is one of my favorites (check out this Santa Barbara Courthouse Elopement I photographed!) because of, well, everything. The way the California light hits at sunset especially is UNMATCHED, especially when you’re up in Santa Ynez Valley.
The Villa is a whole ‘nother feat in itself… The Provence-inspired space is filled with 8,500 square feet of luxury, baby. The place was built only using artifacts and materials recovered from rural villages in France. Yes, you heard me right. It has 5 beautiful suites (all with private bathrooms), 8 fireplaces, countless terraces with mountain views, and a Center Courtyard to relax and have a glass or two (or three) of in-house wine. Does it get any better than that?? Sunstone Winery & Villa is truly the perfect venue to host the intimate European-inspired wedding of your dreams.
